ResponsibilitiesNORTON PULMONARY SPECIALISTS in Kentucky and Indiana is recruiting board-certified physicians trained in pulmonary care, sleep medicine and critical care. This comprehensive practice is an integral part of Norton Medical Group, the employed physician practice division of Norton Healthcare. The ideal candidate will join a strong team of over 20 physicians and more than 25 advanced practice providers specializing in sleep disorders and critical care, and general and interventional pulmonary care. The Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) has designated Norton Pulmonary Specialists as an Accredited Center of Comprehensive Care, the only provider in Kentucky with care center accreditation from the PHA. All Norton Sleep Centers are accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine or the Accreditation Commission for Health Care.ABOUT THE POSITIONSCustom mix of inpatient and outpatient opportunities available based on applicant’s interestsMultiple practice and hospital locations in Louisville, throughout Kentucky and in Southern IndianaOpportunities to work with Norton Cancer Institute Comprehensive Lung CenterResearch support services available through Norton Research InstituteAdvanced practice provider first call structure covering nights, or nocturnist intensivists; weekend hospital call coverage distributed and rotated equally among hospital-based physiciansTotal compensation package to include:Protected base-plus model with productivity bonus option, relocation and continuing medical education funds, signing bonus for fellows and physicians located outside the market areaGeneral pulmonary critical care fellows or physicians with less than one year of experience are eligible for the physician recruitment incentive plan, which provides up to $100,000 over a five-year periodGeneral pulmonary critical care physicians with more than one year of experience will receive a $50,000 retention bonus at the end of their second year of workAnnual bonus available based on quality measuresPaid time off including six weeks paid vacation and seven legal holidaysLUNG CANCER IS THE LEADING CAUSE of cancer death for men and women in the United States. More people are diagnosed with and die from lung cancer in Kentucky than any other state in the nation. In addition, Kentucky has a high percentage (23%) of adults who smoke cigarettes, far above the national average. Norton Pulmonary Specialists works with Norton Cancer Institute to provide multidisciplinary lung care to patients at the Comprehensive Lung Center. The center offers personalized attention and continuity of care, focusing on lung cancer screening, prevention, diagnosis and treatment, along with a special emphasis on smoking cessation. This center has been designated as a GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer Care Continuum Center of Excellence, reserved for programs that accelerate lung cancer detection and patient treatment using advanced technology. Performing appropriate physical examination of each patient. Analyzing reports and/or findings of tests and personal examinations in order to assess the medical condition of the patient, including diagnosing the patient's injury or illness and formulating a prognosis.QualificationsRequired:Doctorate DegreeOne of: DO or MDDesired:Doctor of Osteopathy OR Medical Doctor
